Dr. Jonathan Belmonte
Dr. Jonathan Belmonte DPT, is a Sports Certified Specialist and has been practicing outpatient PT since graduating from Quinnipiac University in 2007. He opened Max Effort in 2013 with a desire to put patients first. His treating motto is “stronger every visit” with a focus on helping clients reach their physical potential.
In 2009, Jonathan continued his education and received his doctorate from North Eastern University. Staying current on the field of sports PT, Jonathan expanded his skills by providing sideline coverage at various athletic venues and passing the sports specialty PT boards. He proudly is one of the only sports specialists on the east end of Long Island.
While working sideline coverage at athletic venues, Jonathan first handedly experienced the importance of concussion protocols. He is now IMPACT concussion certified and has designed a return to sport treatment program for all athletes affected by concussions.
Jonathan personally relates to his young athletes with his extensive athletic background. As a child he was involved in multiple sports whether it be playing lacrosse locally with town teams or at Sachem High school where he participated on the wrestling team. He continued his love for lacrosse throughout college playing on a division I team at Quinnipiac University. While receiving his master’s degree he also played club rugby. In his spare time, Jonathan currently enjoys playing club lacrosse and competes in crossfit competitions.
Jonathan continues to expand his knowledge and better his practice by staying up to date with all medical findings through continuing education, certifications, and orthopedic sports journals. You can always find Jonathan at Max Effort Sports Physical Therapy from Monday-Friday and coaching travel lacrosse with any down time or providing movement seminars to athletes and medical professionals.
